A quick 2 hour trip from Vancouver and here we are in Whistler. Unbelievable! we are in town less than 5 minutes and we bump into Kiwi photographer Stan Hill and a whole bunch of N.Z boarders. In a day or so we have caught up with a huge crew of resident Kiwi's and feel right at home.

We have timed it perfectly! Whistler is nearing the end of an epic winter of snow and the mountains are in prime shape. The rumor is that Blackcomb will remain open untill August, which will make for one of the longest seasons anywhere.

This week is the World Ski & Snowboard Festival which means basically huge ammounts of stuff going on. We are going to bring as much of the good stuff to the site as possible starting with the World Famous Westbeach Classic Halfpipe event. Today was the qualification day which showed riders fighting it out in a Jam Format to get in the big event tommorow.
The conditions are perfect and Whistler was able to showcase the use of their new Pipe Dragon grooming machine. The standard seems real high and with some big names riding tommorow things should go off!
