Today was the annual k2 sponsored Boarder X up at T.C.
75 contestants signed up for a long and wild ride on an absolutely perfect day on the mountain.
After recent snowfalls dumping up to 20cm on the mountain the off piste was in perfect shape for the event.
The Format:
Four riders started at once , first 2 across the line advanced. Those that did not make the cut went through to a repechage round.
The Course:
The event was held below T Bar 2 down Sinclairs Run. Off to the side of Easy Street.
The course was described by many competitors as extremely challenging. The start was steep and very rough making for an interesting first gate and huge entertainment for spectators.
Soft snow and lots of tussock on the course meant HUGE ruts and soft landings on the spills.
