March 20:

SUN PEAK Click here to see Sun Peaks web page.

An early start today saw us driving from Fernie to the airport at Cranbrook an hour away. From here we flew an hour to Kamloops, arriving to yet another fresh dump of snow. The drive up to the Resort is about 45 minutes from town, it's pretty exclusive and definately pricey so unless you want to live it up, be prepared to commute.

First reaction is how new and flash everything is. Over $80 million has been spent in the last few years and it sure looks like it. We have just settled into our brand new slope side condo and hope that the mountain will live up to its reputation when we get up there tommorrow.

On the hill: We just missed a fresh dump of a foot the previous day, but with a great local guide we still found heaps of extremely light and dry freshies in the trees.

The Mountain has a great system of lifts servicing huge terrain. The highlight has to be the 3000' terrain park and 2 well maintained half pipes.

Over half a million was spent on building the huge terrain park and it sure gets a lot of use. Local kids session here all day long, some of the grommets were awesome and we definatly got a few good shots.

Spring has arrived and we are putting up with very liquid snow, although at least the snow is still in great shape.
