The resort of Ishiuchi Maruyama is the location for the 2002 Nippon
Open. Ishiuchi has proven itself as a leader when it comes to growing
and improving the sport of snowboarding.
The conditions
and terrain at Ishiuchi provide the perfect setting for the 3 events
taking place at the 2002 Nippon Open. The Super Halfpipe, Boardercross,
and Junior Jam Halfpipe will be exploding with great riding all
week long. Riders from Finland, Norway, USA, Canada, New Zealand,
and Central Europe will all be making their way to Ishiuchi from
February 26 - March 3rd for the Nippon.
The Burton Global Team Rider's
states "Japan is a sick place to ride. I always enjoy coming
to Japan to do contests because the snow is great and everyone (
the spectators ) really gets into it. The Burton Team will be there
ripping it up for sure.
