March 27:

SILVER STAR B.C. Click to see their web page.

Good old Greyhound got us from Kamloops to Vernon and then its a 20 minute drive up to the mountain. First impression is way cool! They have built a Victorian style village with heaps of accomodation right on the hill.

First few days here has been rock solid snow conditions and changable spring weather. Sooner or later our luck with the snow had to run out. So that means on with the hard boots, sharpen up the edges, and charge on the endless miles of groomed runs.

Last night with a trace of new snow the mountain has been transformed and we have just had an awesome blue sky day. The Putnam Creek side of the mountain is 80% black runs, and home to some of the steepest longest groomed runs I've seen. We could only dream how amazing this side of the mountain would be after a huge snowfall.

The Vance Creek, village side is home to their snowboard park but the hard snow means it's pretty much deserted until things soften up a bit.

Heaps of other stuff to do: This is the only place we have seen with night boarding and on good terrain too. Also the only place I have seen that you can blast around the mountain at night on a snowmobile tour.

Could easily stay here for weeks, but we're on the road once again.......
