Hammer Half Pipe

Once again the weather at Cardrona for todays pipe event was less than perfect with heavy cloud rolling in and out all day. The half pipe itself was in awesome condition with many competitors saying it was the best ever.
After heavy rain last night the snow was really soft and made for perfect landings from some huge Airs.
A record number of competitors, 150 made for a long day, But the huge crowd gathered to watch certainly got there moneys worth.
Today was definately the day that Kiwi Men dominated with some awesome riding. In the womens it was the Japanese Pipe specialists who ruled, with the top Kiwi Kirsty Barwick coming 8th.

The final results were:
MEN:
1 Olly Brunton New Zealand
2 Lee Rowlands New Zealand
3 Ken Wantanabe Japan
Women:
1 Emiko Zennyu Japan
2 Yoko Miyake Japan
3 Ayako Hashizume Japan
Juniors:
1 Joel Westcot New Zealand
2 Aaron Jamieson New Zealand
3 Sam Deavoll New Zealand
