Hi there Everyone,
the NZ crew are playing a loud and drunken game of Arsehole (card game) - so thought I'd drop you a line. The Olympics are a truly awe - inspiring occassion - I'm totally blown away by the high levels of athleticism. It is truly mind-boggling, and gives you a lot of strength and hope.

I've watched luge, bob sleigh, ice hockey, and ski jumping live, and they have all stoked me out no end.

I'm super stoked to be the first to represent New Zealand for snowboarding at the Olympics, and really hope that others make the effort to get this far, and further!!

I think that snowboarding has certainly made an impression on the world, and the IOC for that matter! The media-crazed events of the past week have only proved how bored the media are, and how a young persons influence has been slow to infiltrate the Olympic tradition.

Ross temporarily losing his medal was a huge event, and all the athletes were extremely concerned for him. Everyone supported his effort of winning the Giant Slalom that day, and believed that he had earned the medal.

Whatever the facts, it was made clear that marijuana is not a sport enhancement drug, but a recreational drug that is illegal. But rules are rules, and that point has been clarified for the snowboard world I think.

As for the other gossip surrounding Martin Freinademitz (sp?) - I have only heard rumours of him being drunk and throwing a beer can at a computer in the hotel corridor. Subsequently, he was thrown out of the Games.

But, I have since heard stories of a drunken Dutch speed skater throwing trays of food around in the Food Hall - so anything goes I guess.

All the Kiwis have been throwing around is the contents of their stomachs.

The NZ Olympic team are a bunch of super cool hard-working people with plenty of potential, and an awesome attitude. I feel super proud of their achievements here, and hope that the rest of NZ shares these feelings.

Thats the goods. Love Pam and Olly

Hi there Everyone,
I guess you thought I was a figment of your imaginations!!
Olly and I have been having an awesome time over here at the Olympics - hype fest of my lifetime.

Qualifying and the Opening Ceremony were definitely highlights of my life - however, my Olympic snowboarding debut was a little disappointing. Those crazy snow snakes grabbed my board and flipped me over when I was a third of the way down the course.
Bummed, because I would have liked to finish the race - it looked like a lot of fun. And bummed because I know I could have finished in the teens - a third of the field didn't finish, so its an indication of the treacherous conditions!!
No excuses.

Now we are hanging out and supporting the Kiwi team and soaking up the inspirational entertainment - good shit.
We leave at the end of the Games for NZ on the 23rd - me to Auckland for a week and then Welly for a few months - and Ol to Welly too.

We've had lots of awesome support and messages - its been a super experience, and we both hope to be competing at the next Games in Salt Lake!!
Be sure to email us back, and let us know what is going on - I hope you enjoying the Kiwi heat wave - I can't wait to get into it.

Love Pam and Olly
