The Burton New Zealand Open has established itself as a top event with in the Burton family. With four years already under its belt, the New Zealand Open has joined the ranks of Burton's showcase of premiere international events, the US Open, Nippon Open and the European Open

This year's event, the first stop on the Burton Global Open Series, will be located solely at Snow Park NZ and will comprise of Half Pipe, Quarter Pipe and Slopestyle disciplines. Running from Tuesday 7th through to Saturday 11th August, the 2007 Burton New Zealand Open promises to be the pinnacle of the New Zealand winter calendar. With in excess of 5000 people per day in attendance, this is an event not to be missed.

The Burton Global Open Series is an international series of snowboarding competitions playing out in six countries throughout the course of a year and will award a record-breaking prize purse totaling well over $800,000 US dollars at the end of the 2008 season at the US Open.

The Burton Global Open Series features an international field of local, amateur and pro snowboarders, all having equal opportunity to win the single largest title payout in the sport. The male and female cumulative-points champions will collect $100,000 each, after competing in slopestyle and/or halfpipe Open events during the 2007-08 season. MEDIA CREDENTIALS

Media credentials are key to covering the NZ Open. They get you on the chairlifts, into key events and give you access to media-only event viewing areas. Credential applications must be submitted to the Press Office - Victoria Murray-Orr on vmo@evenz.co.nz by 30th July 2007

MEDIA ROOM

Once you're on site at the Open, we do everything possible to make your job easier. A fully staffed media room is located just as you step off the bridge in the end of the Wooloshed Restaurant. The media room is the place to go for credentials, media and event information and assistance with any press-related matters.
