The K2 Challenge Slalom Giant Slalom and Halfpipe
Cardrona July 27 / 28

This is the first major event on the Kiwi circuit that will see N.Z's top riders footing it with hot foreign riders calling N.Z home for the winter. Several top Europeans made the competition interesting and kept local hotshots honest.


Giant Slalom
This high speed event was won by top Euro David Perraudin with the best kiwi coming 3rd (Mark Begg)
Of course the girls was cleaned up by Pam Bell as usual.


Slalom
Unfortunately it seems that the Euros were onto it and ended up Chris Settle & Alex Languetin 1st & 2nd with Greg Prouse the top Kiwi at 3rd.


Half Pipe
The 2nd day of the event saw the first ever use of the new Monster pipe. Clear & cold, the weather and snow conditions were perfect.The womens event was dominated by dedicated Japanese riders with Mika Otani winning followed by Pam Bell 2nd.
The mens was won by Jason Borgstede from Alaska the top kiwi was Paul Trapski.
