Day Four Junior World Snowboard Champs
New Zealand Junior Snowboard team:
Youth Half Pipe:
The Halfpipe had been reshaped overnight alowing a truly word class
halfpipe comp. Mitch Brown described the pipe as "the best he had ever
ridden in" Mitch Brown and Joel Webb were riding in the mens and Katie
King, Christa Worlee Sita Wills and Rebecca Donnely in the womens. The
practice was a chance for all the photographers to get ready to capture some
exciting action. Mitch was first to ride for the kiwis putting in a very
clean run until the last hit where we uncaracteristicly fell . Joel was next
and he to put in a very clean run.
The scores weren't high enough to proplel them in to the finals so the last
run was all or nothing. Mitch went super big surprising quite a number of
photographers who were unable to take photo's. Joel also went big throwing
two back flips!!! Best runs were Mitch Brown 12.7 and Joel 13.9 not quite
enough to get either of the to the final.

riders were throwing all kinds of inverted tricks. Scores for the girls
still remain unavailable we do know however that Sita Wills scored the
higest run with 8,6 thanks must go to te Australian contingent who supplied
all the entertainment for the Comp

snowboarding in New Zealand has a very strong future. There are rumors that
New Zealand will be hosting this event in 2002 .
Thanks to all the sponsors Pulsate Cardrona 540's for making this possible.
