Burton Signs Mark Fawcett
VERMONT, U.S.A --Aug. 12, 2000--
Burton Snowboards is pleased to announce the
addition of Canada’s Mark Fawcett to the 2001 Burton
Speed Team.
Mark began competing in 1988 in the New England
Cup Events and raced in his first U.S. Open that same
year. During his High School years, he attended
Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine and was
instrumental in introducing snowboarding to its
curriculum. Once graduated, Mark set out to ride the
world. With a combination of power, discipline, and
precision, Mark has dominated international
competition in the 1990ís.
Notable results include:
* US Open Super G Champion 1993, 1998, 1999 * 12
World Cup Victories * 10 National Titles * 34 Overall
Podium finishes since 1997 * 1998 Olympian
Mark is very excited to join his North American
teammates, especially close friend Jasey Anderson,
for the 2001 season. Mark will be focusing on ISF &
FIS World Cups and select Dual Slalom races
throughout the year. He has already made a
significant impact at Burton in the development of
Hardgoods. Mark spends his summers in White
Salmon, WA kayaking, biking, and riding at Mt. Hood.
His winters are based out of North Lake Tahoe with
his wife, Sky Rondonet.
