Quest Lib Tech Banked Slalom
Got to the hill at 7.30am and bam the sun came up so we were into it. Banked Slalom official Craig Strong laid the mean, lean, and fun as course. 55 + shredders turned up ready for Coronet Peak’s first ever banked slalom and we rolled into it after everyone had run the course. The course must have being bang on cause Dylan Hughes was overheard saying ‘it must have been set by a goofy footer’ and local legend John Mooney claimed ‘this course was set by a regular footer for sure’.
With legends like Aaron Bolt making the trip down and JMS bringing his posse of juniors over from Wanaka, Dylan Hughes in a gaper suit, and Toby Mills rockin’ the swandry and jeans shit was getting serious. Everyone got their 2 runs through the course with the best time counting and then it was off to the deck for a BBQ and the under 18 prize giving. Now in case you don’t know this banked slalom is about the glory and getting your name on the trophy so that was the focus.
Dave Nurse summed up the event like this ‘” good turnout, good crew, good times”. Thanks heaps to the fellas from Huffer, Lib Tech, and Quest cause without them this shred fest wouldn’t have happened. So those of you that missed it put it on your calendar for 08
Go get your shred on………..
