Rumours are beginning to circulate, creative differences, old team back on development, what does this all mean.
Rumours are beginning to mount concerning the state of 1080° Snowboarding 2 for the GameCube. Nintendo unveiled a 10 second glimpse of the title at Spaceworld 2001, however since then details on the title being developed by Left Field Productions have remianed quiet.
Reliable sources are claiming that the title has been cancelled by Nintendo, no official statement has yet been made, but early reports indicate 'creative differences' between Nintendo EAD and Left Field Productions.
Continuing on the rumour-mill are reports that old 1080 Snowboarding N64 project lead Giles Goddard has been rehired to work at Nintendo Japan's Entertainment, Analysis and Development (EAD) division. So the possibility is that he could once again be heading up development on the snowboarding franchise.
Stink,
They havent released a decent snowboarding game for PC yet.
Something that lets you ride pipe realistically would be cool, that was the good thing about 1080 on N64.
It`s official Left Field Productions have dropped development on the snowboarding sequel...
Rumours of a rift between Nintendo and Left Field Productions have been rife, seemingly seeing the development of 1080° Snowboarding 2 put on indefinite hold.
Today we can officially confirm that Left Field have dropped the project, and that development will be given to another team. As we reported last year it`s likely to be taken onboard internally, with the original creator, Gilles Godard likely to take up responsibility on the project.
However it looks like we`ll have to wait until E3`02 before more concrete details become available.
