The Forum Youndblood finals were held at the Remarkables ski field last Sunday.

It had been rescheduled due to windy conditions on Saturday. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t much better Sunday, so we turned it into a jib jam on the famous flat box and kink rail.

The newly revamped Red Bull Hummer was parked up and had the beats cranking. The Red Bull was flowing and the riders got their hike on fuelled up by the liquid gold.

Judged by local snowboard pro’s Blair Findlay, Rhy’s Boberg and skate board legend Josh Hamilton no trick went under the radar. Josh was blabbing about who invented which trick. We were set for a fun day.

Jibbing is a major part of snowboarding today and these kids are leading the pack. It was no more apparent than today. It was awesome seeing the kids throwing down every rail trick possible. From 270’s on and off, butter the muffin, 50 50 front flips and nose press tail press, you name it they got it. It made us old dog’s look like we should go back home to the couch.

The crew hiked the S@#t out of the set up and the champions shone. Chance Jenson, the winner of the Forum Youngblood Qualifier @ Coronet Peak, took out the under 20’s today with a solid riding style and a large bag of rail tricks. Chance walked away with a Forum Destroyer snowboard. In the under 16’s local ripper Mahi Mains calmed first place. Taking home a Forum Youngblood snowboard for his efforts.
In the females, all the way from Ohakune, Maia Stier jibbed up a storm and took it out going home with a Special Blend set up.

All the riders rode like demons and were stoked out by copious amounts of spot prizes compliments of Brad @ Forum.
