| One Thousand Bucks up for grabs and a
huge crowd gathered to watch some of N.Z's finest riders do their
thing.
Spectators and riders alike huddled around fires as the sun set.
Temperatures plummeted but a party atmosphere prevailed feed by
beer and a great spectacle of entertainment.
The event was taken out by N.Z 1/2 pipe champion Dylan Butt fresh
from a hugely successful Northern Hemisphere boarding season. He
was followed by 17yr old up and coming Jacob Koia of Arrowtown and
3rd place getter Aaron Jamieson-last years winner.
The standard of riding at this event was so close there was really
nothing in it.
Cab 9's ,7's and huge inverts were thrown down 30ft over the heads
of thousands of spectators lining the sides of the course.
The women also charged the 30ft gap jump with Hana Sullivan's slow
tail grab 3's taking first place followed by Abbey Lockahart and
Holly Thorpe.
What an atmosphere with the live dj decks and MC's priming the
crowd for the huge airs ant the hugely hyped after party rave ..yet
another big night out for the winterfestival.
Dylan Butt the man of the moment going home $1000 richer and a
few extra chicks hanging off his arm.
Good onya Ansell.
