The wind howled down the lake and the clouds gathered thick in the mountains but miraculously at the Slopestyle the snow was soft and the window of weather smiled on us all - the light came and went and the sun popped in and out but the wind stayed away letting the comp crank into top gear.

Downtown Brown and Poulder provided the fat beats and commentary and with hotdogs, cheese and coffee at the top from the Boarders for Christ crew - props up! The Riders, throw down! The cameras rolled and the crowd applauded non-stop. It was a good course the park crew had delivered. 3 sets of 3 options on each hit including 2 rails sandwiching the the top table, 3 ramps on the huge booter in the middle, a jib roller and a last box, rail, tabletop kicker option at the end.

3 hours of inverts - mad spins (Crispins 900's) rail action (Deavoll attacks) box work (Leggetts 1 ftrs) and huge Jackways flight control. Olly Burke came back hard like a possessed demon, Glen Howe spin it up, Koia took 1st in the Juniors finally stringing a flawless run in the finals going full bore and huge or nothing as he does - stoking the crowd. Hana Sullivan pulled the big clean backflip over the huge booter and jibbed all the rails in style taking it from Haidee Mayen and Abby Lockhart in 3rd all rocking! Stef Z in the juniors took 2nd from Andy Clarke. But it was AJ taking it on the countback from Logan Holt both throwing fantastic runs and tying the lead, Kristian Phillips grabbed third. Crispins early runs showed his experience and tight style as was Will Jackways. Divinia charged to take the junior girls from Christa.

Big lineup of 50+ competitors experienced enough to charged it - support from the side was vocal! Head judge, Ste'en Webster, was impressed both by the performance of the riders and the course.

"The riding today was inspirational. As throughout the nationals, the level of the junior's has been phenomenal. For example Jacob Koia's (men's junior) qualifying score of 28.8 out of a possible 30 would have earned him a place in the senior men's final. Both senior and junior girls ripped as well, going inverted and riding all the rails."

Big last day of the Boost National 02.
