5:30am : PITCH BLACK. The starry skys
and a few dim street lamps lit our passage to the mighty Invincibles
for our 6 day bc filming mish. Departure point Remarkable Retreat
or thereabouts. Quentin and Robucks had just put their worn out heads
to the pillow from their blast down from Chch only to be woken a mere
5 min later for the pre-dawn roadrace out to the Rees. Leggs, Lance,
Rolly, Sammy L, Heath and Hamish all staggered in or staggered about,
1/2 asleep or1/2 awake but fully amped with anticipation of pow. The
Saint, our safety man, had confirmed the wild weather predictions
with clear skies today, a front rolling in over the next day or two
with a deep deep depression J, and back to clear skies later during
the week. Right on.
And boy wonder, were we taking the gear. The old blue bertha diesel
was flowing full of boards, bags, bindings, boots, beer, 2 stray
pairs of skis, chocolate, cameras and I mean cameras, 35 mil, 16
mil, high 8, digi vid, digi still. Ben, Josh, Sam B were serious
on getting top rate nz footage outback, with Miles, Chris and Stu
along to grab offbeat, off the rail clips and snips.
So old maids sit back and enjoy, let the pics and flicks do the
talking. 3 DEGREES. GOOD TIME NZ SNOWBOARD MOVIE. In stores December
2002.
