| Queenstown's Steep & Cheep snowboard shop celebrated the opening of the 2001 season with an invite only pre-season party Friday night. |

Who's who of New Zealand snowboarding was
there including NZ Snowboard Association President - Dave
Suckling, Chief Executive officer - Graeme "Spy"
Dunbar, Burton Snowboards NZ owner Guy Alty, Burton Team
Manager Sonny Fisher and local business magnate and player
Mr Big from Kiwi Fun.
New Zealand riders Julianne Bray (back from winning the
Japanese World Cup BX), Roland Morley Brown, Suzie Parker,
Laura Woerlee, Ted Hanna and Jamie Bassett will also be
partying. S&C reopened its doors this Easter after
undergoing a major expansion and refit. "The new
shop is a culmination of the past six years of work"
says Andrew Clark who opened S&C back in 1995. "It's
an opportunity for us to see the five year plan set back
in 1996 becoming a reality." |

S&C Snowboard Shop, New Zealand Tourism
Awards Finalist 2001, NZSBA Retailer of the Year Winner
in 1999 and a finalist in 2000, sells all the top snowboarding
brands including Burton, K2 and Ride snowboards and New
Zealand made 540s clothing. The opening is timed in with
S&C's new website and online shop at www.snowboarder.co.nz.
S&C is the only snowboard shop in New Zealand that
focuses 100% on specialist snowboard products and services
including casualwear. "We don't sell skis, skate
boards, surfboards or camping gear." says Matt Finnigan,
Retail Manager. "We maintain thorough representation
of our brands stocking most models and styles. This includes
childrens gear, alpine, backcountry and safety equipment."
"We also offer a comprehensive rental department
including top model demo boards." adds Andrew.
S&C have a workshop with new tuning machinery to keep
their large rental fleet in top order. Customers boards
may be tuned overnight.
"With over 3/4 of our customers being visitors to
Queenstown, it's a priority of ours to provide a great
kiwi welcome" says Victoria Bartram, Marketing Manager.
"We pride ourselves on the positive experience customers
have in our shop, and with our new premises and fantastic
team, the welcome just got 100% bigger." |
