It was the Rossignol Slopestyle and then
the Rossi 1/4 pipe comp all in the one day. Fantastic day - the amp
of all the riders shot the performance level right off the scale.
Huge kickers and a mass assortment of rails made the slopestyle spectacular.
Richard Hunt ruled the course on the day to claim first in the open
with a huge switch 720 off the second hit amongst a brilliant run.
Debbie O'Hagan boosted huge over the tabletops, with smooth styled
grabs and clean over the rail to take the womens.
Everything was shifted staight down to the 1/4 pipe with riders all
getting into tuning the pipe with finishing touches before kick off.
Then we launched into non stop jam action thru to a 4:20 close way
after the lifts had stopped - no one wanted to go home. Juniors and
open male and female riders tore the sky apart. NZ 1/4 pipe champ
AJ threw down front and backside 900's. Crispin hit mctwist 1 footers
taking the trick award, Leon Erus huge japans, Debbie O'Hagans 180
cripplers took best womens trick section, the Jackways boys flew,
Mitch Brown shot out of a cannon to take juniors best air, Ben Stewart
mctwists, Glen Howe and AJ double acts, Quentin Robbins taking highest
air without question, the Hunt boys going nuts, Neils form Methven
charging. The music pumped by Matt and Luca kept the mic on fire all
day long.
