snow, rails and mailboxes, grommets and jibbers, groovy tunes and a solid crowd turned out on dusk in the streets of ohakune for a jibathon and expression session.

Crispin in fine form and his one footers 50/50, Haidee smooth backside 180 grind, Jamie Bassett style and composure as smooth as his baby bum's haircut, crazy mono-board action or should we say crashing, dual backside sliding by the Hunt brothers and the Remarks crew, Byron smooth as cats pyjamas, Mitch and Ben sessioning the mailbox 50/50, and more tricks u can poke a snowboard at that only Luca knows the names for. Special mention goes to Olly Burke, relentless all night on burton's new snow skate, attempting to railslide his new toy the full monty. with many falls and dramatic tumbles under his belt, and a few niggling injuries, Olly achieved his goal in fine form with a full length grind of the rail. the crowd roared,, the riders cheered and enthuised voice of Luca on mc relayed his triumph across town and the country.

the pitch even got invaded by a 50 gromms fighting over a couple of cds in one of the giveaways. this entertained the crowd and the high rollers of the corporate box more the riders who had another obstacle to overcome. looked very similar to a baseball punchup/pileup. no streakers were seen though... maybe next year.

the Burton Jam Invitational Big Air at Turoa was unfortunately canned due to high winds blasting the mountain, but the NZSBA awards on the saturday night topped off a great festival week at Ruapehu. hanging out for next year....
