30 MAY// PHOTO ESSAY
WHAT IS IT LIKE IN AUSSIE
The Big Aussie Dump:

Summer is still king.
30 MAY// PERISHER // AUSTRALIA // Ready to Rock!!
AUSTRALIA IS HIT BY SNOWFALLS   & BEATS THE KIWI'S:
Perisher:  Groomers on Front Valley buff it up for Saturday

It's all go in Australia with one of the biggest early season dumps in many years causing havoc. Havoc of course with all except the resorts who are reporting up to a meter of snow on their slopes. Perisher recieved another 30cm overnight and is planning on opening for business this weekend.

Thredbo is reporting over a meter at the top and 40cm at the bottom of the hill giving them the best early snow in 10 years. Thredbo is opening lifts early to make the most of the best pre season snowfalls in ten years. On Saturday June 3rd limited lifts are expected to operate including Snowgums Chair accessing the Crackenback Supertrail and Easy Does It Chairlift on Friday Flat, Thredbo's purpose built beginner area.

Mt Buller looks like a white winter wonderland. It began snowing Friday night and just hasn't stopped. They had 15cm of fresh snow overnight and there's now 75cm in the natural areas. The snowmakers have been in action pumping out the snow since 11am Sat morning. In the snowmaking areas they have more than 100cm. Snow is expected to continue to fall right through until Wednesday and the cold temperatures will remain all week - so it looks like there'll be no rest for their snowmakers.

Mt Buller will open this weekend for skiing and snowboarding. There will be 6 lifts operating including, BB1, BB2, Wombat, Howqua, Summit and Bull Run. This is only the third time in Buller's history we have begun operating lifts prior to opening weekend. Lift tickets will be $50 for adults and $33 for kids.

Lucky Bloody Aussies... But with a bit of luck the storm is now heading to N.Z..the temperatures are dropping and our fingers are crossed..
