JB : Made
the move from Whistler back down to Vancouver to hit Seymour. It was
a friday night - we drove down past all the weekend warriors on their
way up after work. Found our way to Cody's and invaded. Not much to
do so crashed after watching Lemmingwinks 'the gerbial' conquor his
upward journey thru the intestines in SouthPark. Wacko Jacko episode!
Got up to go shredding, things didnt look to good due to mist and
rain with spring snow conditions. Cody gave us a tour of the parks,
it was lacking a bit of snow but the potential was there - some natural
hits set thru trees. There were some rails at the top with wicked
backdrops of Vancouver. They had a long flat rail on a downhill angle,
a flat-up-flat kink which was fun, flat-down kink. Also a C-box that
took out Legs, Deni and me. It was wet, as wet as a 15yr old backstage
at an Insync concert. So we went for a jib down @ the mushroom park
- a little park with some flat boxes, rails, small table and a wallride.
We fixed up the wallride so it was a hip onto it. The cloud lifted
and the rain stopped, so we sessioned it for a while. Got a backlip
slide, everyone was rippin it up, then I hooked my edge and backflipped
onto ny back. It kinda hurt, it was super fun though. We watched the
mushroom pros, the dudes that ride the little park super hard but
dont step up to the big park. They kept hitting the little table and
landing beyond the transition - step it up boys.
Then went down to the tree ride Cody showed us earlier, set it up
and hit it a few times. Deni got some nice 3's off it, Legs boosted
up it. There was another dude Ryan hitting up real high too. I tried
backflippn out of a boardslide and almost cracked my head on the tree.
On the way down, we had a look at a A-frame rail over a creek that
had been hit before. I hoped to come back tomorrow and hit it. Got
home, had a big taco cook up, few beers and crashed. Next morning
got up late, weather was shit so checked out town. Just ended up cruizing
around. got my 2nd thing I'm taking home - I have a hat and a yo-yo.
Last day riding was a slow one, the mountain was now only open on
weekends, today being a monday so we went up to hit the A-frame rail.
We got up there and it was dumping, a few cms had already fallen and
the run in was slow, too slow to setup the rail. Cody came up and
hooked us up some snowskates to play on in the mushroom park. Rich
got some nice 50/50s over the rainbow, so dids Legs. Let off some
fireworks, dragged ourselves back to the van, packed up our shit and
that was the end of the roadtrip.
Deni went back to whistler with CL and Rich, Legs went down to Baker
with Lance, I went with Stu to his buddys, Aron, place in Richmond
where the roadtrip started. I'm on my way back home on the 3rd to
catch a the end of summer i hope... All in all, had a wicked time,
met heaps of cool people, sweet riding and roadtrips are easier than
I thought. I'll be back!
