Today was the 2nd round of this famous weekly competition.
This weeks event was sheduled as a showcase for the Queenstown Winter Festival, an opportunity for riders to strut their stuff before the nations media. It also meant a pretty healthy prize pool was up for grabs.
Unfortunately mother nature turned on us and the event became the WET Boarder-X from hell. The rain which washed away large snowpack all night continued today and turned the course into a challenge for competitors and organiser's alike.
But the show went on, and for those brave enough to show up it actually turned into an extremely fun day..
Most would say we were MAd but hey it was a classic case of enjoy the day no matter what!!
The Course:
The event is held off the Greengates Triple Chair,
Week one, due to a lack of snow off trail, was run on an extremely creative short course on the "Tuck trail"
Although short, the course proved very challenging and as the first real event of the season was a perfect start for what is shaping up to be an intense comp...
Stay tuned for weekly reports....
