Today was the 1st round of this weekly competition.
The event, now in it's second year, has drawn a lot of intrest with record numbers of both local and visiting snowboarders entering. Today saw 25 women and close to 40 men competing on an extremely hard and fast course with a good showing of spectators.
The Format:
Six riders start at once and its knockout style, first across the line advances. All riders get to charge in at least 2 runs.
The Course:
The event is held off the Greengates Triple Chair,
Week one, due to a lack of snow off trail,was run on an extremely creative short course on the "Tuck trail"
Although short, the course proved very challenging and as the first real event of the season was a perfect start for what is shaping up to be an intense comp...
