National Snowboard Champions.
Louisa Muir made a huge comeback to take the ETA Naturals Giant Slalom Championship. Two years ago, Louisa broke both of her legs and
since then, has strived to regain her form. Greg Prouse was the first New Zealander home finishing just behind Japans Kei Iida in the GS
to take the national title.
Barnaby Newton retains his place as top junior in the GS while Dominique Scarf is the new female junior champion.
The titles in the senior sections of the 540s Boardercross both go north of the Bombay Hills with Stephen Scott and Jana Gibson while Wanaka
teenagers Tim Jackways and Haidee Mayen retain both the male and female junior titles.
Dylan Butt retained his title as the Northwave Halfpipe champion while Wellingtons Suzy Parker pipped last years champion, Julian
Bray to take the womens title. Wanakas Sita Wills was this years youngest winner taking the junior womens
halfpipe championship at just 14 years of age.
Arrowtowns Nick McBride had a clear win to take the junior mens title.
More than 200 snowboarders contested the three national events over the past three days. New Zealands snowboarding champions
will be recognised at a prizegiving in Wanaka tomorrow evening (Thurs, September 3).
