  • Winter Festival 1/2 Pipe at Coronet Peak Queenstown
    Saturday July 25th 1998:

The Winter Festival has been pumping all week, and after a massive effort by the Pipe crew Coronet has put on a 1/2 Pipe comp of international standard.

The riders used this as the first opportunity to show their form after summers training overseas..

    The Highlights:
    Deni Bevan..
Barrel Rolls with awesome height and as usual naturally smooth.
    Lee Rowlands..
Going huge and looking very rad untill he took a fall in practise twisting his knee & ankle.
    Aaron Jamison..
The winner today pulling off McTwists and huge solid airs...definate style!
    Ayako..
Girls winner(Lee Rowlands girlfriend) is a top Japanese rider and was spinning and tweaking with the best of the boys.

Stay tuned for tomorrows Big Air....
