There was an awesome turnout from some of NZ's finest snowboarders
& skiers absolutely killing it with some mental tricks like
Nick Draxl the only skier to drop in switch (that's backwards on
skis if you didn't know already)!!! Without a doubt Heath Patterson
was the most consistent rider overall, committing hard and stomping
all the way until the finals when he slammed hard but was rewarded
for such.
In the end, young buck Jake Koia took home the first place prize
booty of $2000 cash, product from Quest, Gifted & STS to name
a few, and to top it off a Magnum of champagne to kick off the celebrations.
Much respect must go out to host MC P-Digs whose ever-upbeat &
professional delivery kept the crowd pumping and motivating the
riders to go harder and faster while local legend Downtown Brown
kicked off the sounds. The overall vibe was totally positive and
incident free with the crowd enjoying every minute of the comp.
As if that wasn't enough, Confucius & Mysterious D turned
up the tempo and got the crowd amped for more and just when you
thought it was all over Rhombus got the crowd jumping. Although
their set was short (blame Queenstown's draconian noise laws) MC
Mana & Imon Starr knew what was up and pleased the crowd with
an awesome performance before blessing up the event for next year.
