Williams ended up beating Osachuk
to advance for the showdown for first and second positions, while
Tarte won his battle against Feliciano to advance to the showdown
with Williams.
The winning trick by Tarte
Tarte won the title with a backside 7 nose grab and a cab 9 double
grab. In previous runs he accomplished a Cab 1080, and stomped the
landing. He also threw a Cab 1260 but reverted the trick. "Disgusting"
was how the Pro 3 judge of International Judgings Commission, Marcello
Centurione, described it – expressing his pure delight in
witnessing Tarte’s skills. Osachuk ended up winning third
place with a switch backside 7.
The best trick of the day was laid down by Feliciano who stunned
the crowd with a backside rodeo 9, stomping at the landing. "He
landed that trick in the first run of finals but couldn’t
seem to find his legs in the final runs,’’ said Centurione.
