It was a huge day of freestyle action living up to every part
of it's aim of a riding super session all on perfect snow, the cameras
& film rolled as the 24ft 1/4 pipe , rails and 32ft wall ride took
a hammering.
Over $10,000 in prizes and $1100 in cash was thrown out to everyone
for all kinds of reasons, [no format just open jam simultaneous
everything going on non-stop] from Sub20 Outerwear[sts], Snowpark,
Dragon Optical, Ride, Cartel, Forum, Philips, Northwave, DaKine,
Hurley, GMC, Circa, Ansell, Red, Level, Irium'The Dream', Geenyus,
Play it again records, 4Square, IrIs, K2, Mitre10, Bacoda and more....
There was plenty of food, drinks and beer to keep everyone full,
the music rolled with Narls running the open decks, Aj was up there
and Deni also later on, the mc battling rocked with Narls, Ben James,
Oz and more going hard out and carrying away plenty of prizes.
On the graffiti boards, Matt from the states, Sam Devoll and Nigel
Roberts took out the prizes - the artworks will stay up at Snowpark
- it was amazing to see evolve thanks to Mitre10 putting up extra
spray cans.
It's hard to mention and remember everyone who ripped as everyone
on the park just charged and deserves props - the riding was for
personal satisfaction and once more grew with the day.
Tom Willmot and Aj boosted carrying away cash for the biggest
= airs way up above the 1/4, Dylan Butt won a new Ride board for
the biggest invert; took some smaller cash and let the board go
up for the most ruling grommet prize [to Tom Donnelly] on the rails
- onya Dyl!
The wall ride was amazing and among the tricks thrown down was
the transfer along the coping with a bunch of riders getting close,
in the end Jah Harris and Logan Holt pushed it for a showdown and
Logan walked away stoked with a new flash Philips boom box.
The girls ripped it with Ju Brae and a Japanese backflipper standing
out, the Worley girls pushed it for family battles, on the wall
ride and rails Hayley Holt, Hana Sullivan, Abby, Amy and more just
charged and amped each other further, as did Snowpark's Dwain on
the rails with Steve Fergs, Andy Mac & Clark, Joel Westcot & Web,
Tobin, Jake K, Ants Lefflar, Roland Mb, Jackways bros, Glen Legs,
Mark Catsburg, Louis Prucker, Mitch B, all mentioned above, lots
of locals, foreigners and so many other rippers...
It was a day for all freestylers to be part of no matter what
level. Sam, Jeff, Sally, Deni and all the Snowpark crew were amazing
- the Snowpark is an incredible place and people, the fact that
we have such a world class facility in our backyard is outstanding.
To everyone who came - thanks for making another fantastic day
riding and charging together in NZ snowboarding history, we were
stoked to put it together with the Snowpark.
Cheers //
