15 JULY// MT HUTT // METHVAN // NEW ZEALAND
The WIDELOAD Half Pipe at Mt Hutt:
The 5th annual Wide Load Pipe Jam held at Mt Hutt, Canterbury on Saturday saw the best level of riding yet. The Mt Hutt crew cut a great pipe considering the amount of snow on offer and the ISF sanctioned event attracted a high standard of riders. A who's who of N.Z snowboarding turned up for this first event of the Southern Hemisphere season where valuable ISF (International Snowboard Federation) points can be gained for international rankings. Along with the top Kiwis many international riders are beginning to arrive on the scene down under after a long Northern Hemisphere season competing.

"A who's who of N.Z snowboarding turned up for this first event of the Southern Hemisphere season where valuable ISF (International Snowboard Federation) points can be gained...!"

Wide Load's in house DJ, Ricky spun some great tunes thanks to the RDU Sound System. Aaron Jamieson of Queenstown took out the senior mens final ahead of local rider Quenton Robbins who both got huge inverted air out of the pipe. While Dylan Butt from Queenstown took third and local Trevor Ponting fourth. Jah Harris from Wanaka won the Junior Mens Final and one of the many local Japanese riders Aiyko Hashizumo took out the Open Womens Final. Wide Load representative, Aaron Bolt, was stoked with the day.. saying the "event is a big job to organise behind the scenes but awesome fun up here on the day!"

Shaydars Highlights of the comp...
Aaron Jamieson 1st
big and inverted on his 2nd run for everyone to chase.

Quentin Robbins 2nd
Huge air time and oh so clean

Dylan Butt 3rd
Tried huge and inverted but didn't stick the landings and had to settle for a safe run as his scorer....
